Who Do You Choose?
I read an article a long time ago and it lead off with something to the effect of:
“People ultimately choose to do business with people they like, and everyone likes someone who appreciates them.”
This thought pattern has always resonated with me and I have been driven by this through the things I do on a day to day basis:
– Assisting people on their path to career success and assisting the people who employ them on the path to business success.
– Coaching businesspeople to grow and fill their networks with likeminded people so they can service the needs of their clients and customers more efficiently and more enjoyably.
– Running events to connect likeminded people together in person.
There’s numerous advantages to doing business this way:
1. Creating positive working relationships – Working with people you like can help create a positive and enjoyable work environment. This can lead to better working relationships which can help improve communication, collaboration and productivity. Feel the flow!
2. Trust and mutual respect – Liking the people you work with builds trust and mutual respect and in turn more open and honest communication which is essential for any successful business relationship.
3. Shared interests and values – When you work with people you like, there’s a good chance you share similar interests and values. This can create a stronger sense of teamwork and collaboration which can help you achieve your business goals more effectively.
4. Reduced stress and conflict – Working with likeminded people creates less conflict, less tension and more positivity.
5. Better outcomes for clients – When you’re working with likeminded positive people you’re more likely to provide better customer service. This enables you to build stronger relationships with your customers which leads to them talking about you in their networks which delivers repeat business and referrals.
This just doesn’t happen by accident. I have been helping people design their networks so they deal with the people who they want to be dealing with.
